Splendid Shrewsbury... historic home to medieval streets, over 660 listed buildings and many a festival – and half an hour from the illustrious World Heritage Site of Ironbridge Gorge.
And splendid Wigmore Lakes, close to all this industrious activity but also a Shropshire countryside site with views of both the south Shropshire Hills and the hills into Wales, to use as a base to retreat peacefully back to of an evening.
Or just stay on site instead: Wigmore Lakes has two fishing lakes for guests for a small daily rate, to catch carp, tench, roach, bream and other silverfish (one of the lakes is predominantly filled with carp and the other has a complete mix and is often used for matches).
Wigmore Lakes doesn't have a site shop, but it doesn't really need it: a shop and post office is just outside, with a fish and chip shop for takeaway and a café for breakfast and other meals.
A modern toilet and shower block is available for guests' use as well as a dining area with washing up facilities.
All our pitches are super pitches and include waste, water, electricity and tv points.
Wigmore Lakes does accept children, but doesn't have any facilities for them such as a play area or games.
